Gems of Italy – Lampedusa
Lampedusa is a wonderful island of Pelagian Archipelago, along with Linosa and Lampione, in south of Sicily.
A borderland straddling two worlds: Europe ( 109 miles from Sicily ) and Africa ( 70 miles from Tunisia ), Lampedusa contains within it the environmental characteristics of two continents.
It is a wonderful island that will make you fall in love with its unspoiled nature and the wild charm. The thousand shades of the sea will leave you breathless and its waters are so transparent and crystal clear that the boats seem to fly.
The coast is full of coves and beaches, some are only accessible by boat and surrounded by a clear sea.
Beaches that you can not miss :
- Cala Galera,
- Cala Francese,
- Cala Greca,
- Cala Creta,
- Cala Pulcino,
- La Tabaccara and
- Isola dei Conigli (Rabbit Island)
The last one is one of the prettiest beaches in a protected area, given its loggerhead sea turtle population that lays its eggs here.
Lampedusa is the ideal place for those who are looking for rest and relaxation among the most intense colors and scents of the Mediterranean.
Experience
Enjoy a boat trip to discover the most hidden beaches and coves accessible only by sea. If you are lucky you will have the chance to spot dolphins and sea turtles (Caretta Caretta) now becoming a symbol of the island. A delicious and fresh lunch awaits you on board.
Lampedusa is indeed one the most beautiful and untouched Italian island. Far from the tourism and well known only in the Italian people.
