Blue Zone by MSC Crociere. We have tested it for you!

Blue Zone by MSC Crociere . It is the safe way to cruise by MSC.

We have experienced firsthand how you can travel safely in Covid time into Blue Zone by MSC Crociere.

Is it possible to travel safely during this period? Yes, MSC! We experienced it personally aboard Grandiosa!

It is currently the only ship in service in the MSC fleet. We started from Civitavecchia, passing through Genoa, Malta, Naples and Palermo (the only section currently operating on the Mediterranean – but soon there will be the reopening of the ports of Greece and therefore also the eastern Mediterranean itinerary will be possible).

Here below everything you need to know: from the safety procedures to the timetables of the restaurants on board and so on.

You will have the opportunity to escape from daily life and, even if for a short time, get back to normal.

ANTI-COVID PROTECTION PLAN

It covers any expenses for travel assistance, transfers, medical expenses, specific cases of cancellation related to the Covid-19 infection.

It is mandatory for all departures until November 30, 2021.

The protection plan is valid from the confirmation of the cruise at the agency, until the moment of disembarkation.

MANDATORY QUESTIONNAIRE

Before boarding the ship, each passenger is required to complete a health questionnaire in which they certify that they have not knowingly come into contact with positive people (the questionnaire will be given to you at check-in). If you have recently returned from abroad, you will need to specify this and have with you the negative result. Resulting from an antigen swab made within 48 hours before boarding.

first swab

After completing the questionnaire, it is time for the on-site antigenic swab.

Directly in the various ports of embarkation, MSC manages to make thousands of tampons every day.

It is easy to guess that you can only get on board following a negative result. At this point, passengers simply have to wait 30/40 minutes for the result before boarding.

masks on board

Masks are also mandatory on board, in any public corner, with a few exceptions: you can only remove them while eating, working out in the gym, swimming in the pool and sunbathing on the Sun Deck.

New masks will be delivered to you every morning directly to the cabin, together with the on-board program. Nevertheless, if you forget it, the crew will deliver one to you.

the msc bracelet

At the beginning of the cruise, each passenger will have a bracelet equipped with a technology that allows them to trace their movements on board the ship (it must be worn at all times, even during sports activities, spa treatments or while in the pool).

Thanks to the bracelet you will know if you have been in contact with a positive during your stay on board.

The bracelet can also be used to open the cabin, charge for purchases, access restricted areas.

excursion

During the excursions it is never allowed to leave the group, enter the shops and carry out any activity not covered by the guide.

For example, during our excursion to Malta, we were able to discover a large part of the island .

Everything takes place in complete safety and in the company of guides professional!

DOUBLE MANDATORY SWAB

A new swab is mandatory a few days before disembarkation. This is done on deck 16, where a dedicated area has been set up in the Sportplex (you will receive the result of the swab in the cabin).

All mandatory swabs required by the protocol are free.

Also the crew is subject to constant monitoring: from the captain to the crew staff, everyone repeats the swab every week!

gym open but with some restrictions

The gym is open every day, from 7am to 9pm. Admissions are limited in order not to create crowds.

In the gym there is no obligation to wear a mask.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS: HOW NICE TO FIND THEM OPEN EVEN AFTER 6 PM

Different times for each venue. You can dinner from 7pm to 9.30pm. The Marketplace is open (even here self service is not allowed but everything is administered by the crew). The thematic restaurants are open until 10pm (sushi, Asian, steakhouse, Mediterranean etc).

You can enjoy an aperitif from 6pm to 9pm. The bars operate in rotation from 6am to 3am.

clean air

During this time, MSC introduced “new sanitation methods, including the use of hospital-grade disinfectants, electrostatic nebulizers and hand sanitizing gel dispensers available throughout the ship. There is even greater cleanliness, with particular attention to high traffic areas. In the cabins and public areas, the air is 100% outside, to avoid recirculation“.

The sanitization of common areas, elevators and shared toilets take place several times a day.

In addition, it should not be underestimated that there are only 15% of the total capacity of 6,000 guests on board (for example, during our week of stay on board, we were only a thousand).

constant temperature control

Temperature control takes place daily and is mandatory at least once a day (at breakfast, lunch or dinner time).

In the event of an excursion, the temperature is checked before leaving the ship, again by means of an infrared thermometer.

on board activities and social distance

Fun on board is always guaranteed! The on-board water park is open at set times, while the pools and solariums are open from 7am to 9pm.

At the theater there is a limited capacity to ensure social distancing but there is an extensive entertainment program to ensure everyone can enjoy the shows themselves.

Casinos and shops always open (during navigation).

WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE OF THE PASSENGERS HAS SYMPTOMS?

The guest must remain in the cabin and call the Medical Center at 115.

If deemed appropriate by the doctors, an isolation procedure will be activated in close collaboration with the local health authorities.

flexible bookings

With the “Sicuro e Sereno” formula you can change your booking up to 15 days before departure.
