The Gubbio Christmas Tree – The world’s biggest Christmas tree

Every year,  on 7th of December, the biggest Christmas Tree in the world lights up with its hundreds multicolored lights.

These lights that make up the shape of the tree, shine on the slopes of the Ingino Mount, by overlooking the town of Gubbio.

The shape of the tree is a real triumph of lights and colors that gives a unique glance

Its roots are hidden in proximity of the city walls, while the star is at the top, where the Basilica of the Saint patron St. Ubaldo is located.

With a base of 450 meters and a height of 750 meters, the Christmas tree of Gubbio in 1991 it entered in the Guinness Book of World Records as “The World’s Largest Christmas Tree”.

Every year it is possible to join the “Adopt a Light” initiative which allows, with a symbolic donation, to adopt one of the tree lights dedicating it to those who wish.

It stays lit on throughout the holiday season, until the day of Epiphany, on 6th January, or slightly beyond
