Covid-19 updates: information for tourists

Here below latest news and the official sites to keep update about the situation.

The measures indicated in this section are valid until 25 October 2021

Travelers from Canada, Japan and the United States can enter Italy without quarantine obligation, provided that:

1)They must fill out a digital Passenger Locator Form (or, in case of lack of necessary technology, a self-declaration); and present it to the carrier or any other authorized person, either printed or on your mobile device. https://app.euplf.eu/#/

2)They present on arrival to the carrier, or any other authorized person, a Covid Certificate (also known as Green Pass or Covid-19 Green Certificate) or equivalent certificate issued by your local health authorities in Canada, Japan or the USA, showing proof that you have either:

been vaccinated against COVID-19 with an EMA authorized vaccine – Comirnaty from Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, Vaxzevria, Jansen (Johnson & Johnson) – and they have completed the prescribed vaccination cycle since at least fourteen (14) days;

A Covid Certificate compliant with Italian (and EU) rules or equivalent certificate will allow travelers from Canada, Japan or the United States to enter Italy without having to self-isolate and get tested after self-isolating.

Certificates must be submitted in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French or Spanish.

The Certificate must have the following components to be valid:

  • full name and date of birth
  • information regarding vaccine type
  • date(s) of vaccination
  • details of the health authorithy who administered the vaccination

3)Negative result for a rapid molecular or antigenic test performed in the 72 hours prior to entry into Italy

Countries of the European Union and the Schengen area: entry with COVID-19 Green Certificate

The COVID-19 Green Certificate makes it easier to travel to Italy and other countries of the European Union and to the countries of the Schengen area. To enter Italy with the COVID-19 Green Certificate, travellers must meet one of the following conditions, as shown in the Certificate:

  • have completed the prescribed anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination cycle for at least 14 days
  • or have recovered from COVID-19
  • or have taken a molecular or antigen swab test within 48 hours prior to entering Italy with negative results.

They must fill out a digital Passenger Locator Form (or, in case of lack of necessary technology, a self-declaration); and present it to the carrier or any other authorized person, either printed or on your mobile device. https://app.euplf.eu/#/
